Hi friends,
I know that many of you are having trouble trying to get the Update 1 for Delphi 2007.
If you are using the Delphi 2007 that is available from the P2P networks (in which the installer has been cracked so that it doesn't ask for a serial), you can't get any updates via the "Check for Updates" shortcut.
There is a solution though: download Delphi 2007 Trial or C++Builder 2007 Trial (both of them include the Update 1) from the CodeGear website and use a Delphi 2007 serial on them.
Don't worry about installing C++Builder; if you use a Delphi serial on it then it will install only Delphi, because the serial is responsible for what product gets installed on your machine (remember that C++Builder is actually RAD Studio 5, which includes Delphi and C++Builder).

but the problem is.... Trial only works for 30 days right??? or we can use that D2007Tweak 1.0 to remove the license check???
Hi Tails,
For this issue contact me by email and I will try to help you.

The problem is I have already downloaded Delphi 2007 Trial 2 months ago and now I cannot download again with Update 1 because it says I have already downloaded.
Yeah I have noticed. I hope they fix that soon.
Thanks for Delphi Distiller Alvaro. Great and really useful tool, especially when you have multiple versions of Delphi installed.
I have a question about the "Delphi garbage files". Do you know where following files generated by Delphi are actually used for?
- .local
- .cfg
- .dsk (desktop configuration?)
- .identcache
- .cbk
- .tvsconfig
- .config
There are probably many others and I couldn't find a place where they are all documented. Probably some files are generated from one or more IDE experts I have installed.
Thanks in advance,
NC
Hi NativeCoder, thank you for your kind words.
Regarding the file extensions, .cfg contains parameters for the commmand line compiler (useless if you use the IDE), .dsk was used in the past to store the IDE layout for a given project (now we use desktops), .identcache is where ErrorInsite stores its crap (to get rid of this type of file you need to select "Avoid loading of additional .NET crap by delphicoreide100.bpl"), .local I don't know what it is for. The other extensions that you mentioned are probably created by thirdparty tools.
Regards
Hi
Can anyone here help me in acquiring a serial to use with the D2007 installation? The serial provided with the trial version does not work with the copy I have. I was hoping to do a full install and then try for the upgrade. I am new to this so please forgive me if this is not the best approach.
ya, the distiller surely is very nice... thx for the hard work man....
is it possible to make the tweaks for C++ Builder also??
Hi Tails, thanks.
Of course it is possible, but I wonder how many people is interested in C++Builder
Any thoughts on how to activate the command line compiler?
It says: "Command line tools are not supported in the trial version."
