Delphi Distiller v1.00

Delphi Distiller is a customization tool for Delphi 2007/2006/7/6/5 that lets
you manage packages and experts and apply tweaks that enhance the IDE in several
ways.


Why is it called Delphi Distiller?
----------------------------------
The main motivation for this new tool is to allow you to create a lite and fast
Delphi 2007 setup (thus the name), in the line of Delphi 7 Second Edition, but
this time following a legal approach.

This feature isn't finished yet, however it was necessary to release the tool
now for the people who need to tweak the recently released Delphi 2007 Update 1.


Current feature set

- Choose what packages and experts are loaded by Delphi 2007/2006/7/6/5.

- Delphi 2007 tweaks:
- Don't create __history folders.
- Don't create .~bpl files.
- Don't create .local files.
- Don't check for updates when the IDE starts.
- Avoid loading of additional .NET crap by delphicoreide100.bpl.
- Use normal toolbars (no ridiculous gradients).

- Delphi 2006 tweaks:
- Don't create __history folders.
- Don't create .~bpl files.
- Don't create .local files.
- Don't create .cfg files.
- Use normal toolbars (no ridiculous gradients).
- Fix TabStop bug.

- Delphi 7 tweaks:
- Don't create .~bpl files.
- Don't create .ddp files.
- Don't create .cfg files.
- Use Tahoma font by default.

- Delphi 6 tweaks:
- Don't create .~bpl files.
- Don't create .ddp files.
- Don't create .cfg files.
- Use Tahoma font by default.

- Delphi 5 tweaks:
- Don't create .~bpl files.
- Don't create .cfg files.
- Use Tahoma font by default.


Instructions for Windows Vista users

1) Shame yourself.
2) Run Delphi Distiller with administrator rights.

How to update the tweaked Delphi 2007 properly?

You update the tweaked D2007 just like you would update an untouched D2007:
Start menu->CodeGear RAD Studio->Check for Updates.

Unfortunately the standalone Update 1 (which is actually an updated ISO) is only available to registered users (or if you have access to the new C++Builder 2007 you can use a Delphi serial on it, which actually gives you the updated Delphi).

Figured it out.. I had not applied the la-*test*-('") rollup. I am rid of the ugly gradient toolbars now Thanks.

It does not work if D2006 have not installed

In order to user it , you must have a key in registery like this
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\BDS\4.0
or have D2006 installed.

if you have no D2006 intalled,no
" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\BDS\4.0" , it will not work

That key is only required if you have D2006 installed on your machine.

If you don't have it installed, the D2006 section in Delphi Distiller will simply appear grayed out.
